Most of us take breathing for granted because we do it regularly and frequently – about 23,000 times a day on average.  Breathing is second nature and giving it another thought seems like a distraction.

  1. Inverse breathing mechanics– making the lungs compress when you want them to expand.
  2. Bad breathing mechanics– taking advantage of only a small sliver of your breathing capacity.
  3. Mouth only breathing– losing on the health and performance aspects of using the nose as the primary breathing mechanism.
  4. Involuntary breath holds– or sleep apnea – creates unrecognized additional stress, impacts sleep, etc.

How Our Performance Breathwork Program Works

We offer 60 minute Breathwork classes.  These are guided breathing sessions where our trained instructors lead the class through various breath patterns.  We call it exploration breathing and each sessions is designed to target specific goals:

  • Proper breathing mechanics
  • Improved lung capacity
  • Improved tolerance to CO2 (carbon dioxide)
  • Mental relaxation
  • And much more

A typical 60 minute class is structured as follows:

  • 5 – 10 minute intro and prepare for breathing
  • 40 – 45 minute exploration breathing session
  • 5 – 10 minute wrap-up and group discussion with the instructor
